Well I know I have been M.I.A. the past few days. It is safe to assume that I was in recovery from a rainbow sleepover party overdose!
It was AWESOME, but I am so glad it is over!
You know, NOT ONE ITEM WAS BOUGHT FOR THIS PARTY UNTIL 9:30 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE! Yep, I just said that!
INSANE? Just a little!
It all came together fine, thanks to Pinterest, a great friend's help and some crafty brain power!
Here is the E-vite that I emailed out to everyone!
She had to choose girls in her own age bracket and only 10 of them...That was MY her limit.
She is so cute:)
And for decor, I made tissue paper flowers to make a rainbow backdrop (super easy tutorial on the way), the white paper plates as clouds, a chandelier out of a dollar tree wreath, rainbow streamers and these dollar tree rainbow wind things that I found. I used colored tulle I had hanging around to make a draped table skirt!
The girls loved the activities.
I really thought I would have had more "oops" moments, but there really weren't many at all. Nothing permanent, anyway!
They REALLY loved making these shirts! I followed this tutorial and just tweaked it a little! If you'd like to know more, let me know and I will fill you in!
I got this adorable party favor idea from here! Again, I added my own little spin on it...
...just like most of you would!!
:)
And here are some yummy food ideas...
DO NOT BE ALARMED BY ALL THE CANDY AND HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!
I cooked a big pot of Jambalaya (which is basically rice with meat and gravy all mixed up) for some "rib-stickin" dinner!
OH..
and the CAKE!
I followed these instructions which were great and easy!!
It was so yummy and quirky!
I chose to not put icing on all of it so that we could admire all the colors and I figured a six layered cake with icing between every layer was plenty of icing!
OK and the highlight...RAINBOW DIPPING PANCAKES!!
EASY AND FUN! They loved them so much!
Now, I KNOW if I would have planned ahead, it really could've been even grander and craftier, but I am thinking..
Not too shabby for 24 hours?!
What do YOU think?
Nelly, that e-invite is adorable! Rainbow pancakes??? Wow, this is one party neither she nor you will ever forget!
