TRASH TO TREASURE {T2T} TUESDAY:DIY GIFT WRAP TISSUE FLOWERS

Pin It Now!
I can honestly say that I don't think gift wrap tissue is "trash" on this "T2T" Tuesday.

However, there are some people out there that will not hesitate to toss that old used tissue away. This is not the case for me (unless it has food or something on it then, EW!...It's history)!
Anyway, trash or not, I promised in my Colors of the Rainbow Party Post (HERE) that I would share this
easy
breezy
beautiful
( not cover girl )
tutorial.
I was inspired by a photo on Pinterest and tried to get to the originator of the photo, but it kept bringing me to Spam sites, so I am bummed that I can't give a shout out to the person responsible for the photo!
(That's why watermarks and logos are important, People!)
Instructions:
*Accordion fold two pieces of tissue
*Fold those two pieces in half and match them up together and staple in the center of each
* Then match up the opened sides and line them up stapling all the way to the end. Repeat for all sides
(NOTE: Before I decided to staple the sides, I attempted to tape them but decided not to because the paper is so thin and if it isn't matched up correctly and I need to remove it, the tape will tear the paper and then it's a hot mess!)
* Finally, I used pipe cleaners to gather both halves of the flowers to make one BIG BEAUTY and twisted it around the back creating a loop to hang it.

And...C'EST FINI (A little bit of french for ya'll)!
:)
It took a little while....(not TOO long) to make these, but I loved the outcome!
Most decorations that are the same, done in bulk, will usually give a nice look!

OHHHH and these two awesome bloggers featured my DIY Floral Wire Earrings:

Thank you Chicas (Now Spanish?! I'm tri-lingual today)!
YA'LL ROCK!
Have a Terrific Tuesday!!

PARTY TIME:COLORS OF THE RAINBOW BIRTHDAY PARTY

Pin It Now!

Well I know I have been M.I.A. the past few days.  It is safe to assume that I was in recovery from a rainbow sleepover party overdose!
It was AWESOME, but I am so glad it is over!
You know, NOT ONE ITEM WAS BOUGHT FOR THIS PARTY UNTIL 9:30 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE! Yep, I just said that!
INSANE? Just a little!
It all came together fine, thanks to Pinterest, a great friend's help and some crafty brain power!

Here is the E-vite that I emailed out to everyone!
She had to choose girls in her own age bracket and only 10 of them...That was MY her limit.

She is so cute:)

And for decor, I made tissue paper flowers to make a rainbow backdrop (super easy tutorial on the way), the white paper plates as clouds, a chandelier out of a dollar tree wreath, rainbow streamers and these dollar tree rainbow wind things that I found.  I used colored tulle I had hanging around to make a draped table skirt!
The girls loved the activities.
I really thought I would have had more "oops" moments, but there really weren't many at all.  Nothing permanent, anyway!
They REALLY loved making these shirts! I followed this tutorial and just tweaked it a little! If you'd like to know more, let me know and I will fill you in!
I got this adorable party favor idea from here! Again, I added my own little spin on it...
...just like most of you would!!
:)

And here are some yummy food ideas...
DO NOT BE ALARMED BY ALL THE CANDY AND HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!
I cooked a big pot of Jambalaya (which is basically rice with meat and gravy all mixed up) for some "rib-stickin" dinner!
OH..
and the CAKE!
I followed these instructions which were great and easy!!
It was so yummy and quirky!
I chose to not put icing on all of it so that we could admire all the colors and I figured a six layered cake with icing between every layer was plenty of icing!

OK and the highlight...RAINBOW DIPPING PANCAKES!!
EASY AND FUN! They loved them so much!
Now, I KNOW if I would have planned ahead, it really could've been even grander and craftier, but I am thinking..
Not too shabby for 24 hours?!
What do YOU think?

MARVEL-US MONDAY: RAINBOW PARTY IDEA ROUND-UP AND WEEKEND RUN-DOWN

Pin It Now!
WHOA! WHAT A WEEKEND! I have been on an emotional roller-coaster..BIG TIME!
Here's the rundown...

  • The whole family was in a wedding..YES, I said WHOLE...We survived...barely...The things we do for the ones we love..
  • I LOST Someone obviously STOLE my new iPhone! I am literally in mourning right now!
  • I was and still am sick with a horrible sinus thing!
  • Me and my son, while in our wedding attire (his being rented), stepped in a mud pit while leaving the wedding at 10:30 at night!
  • OH, and the highlight...the dress that I had altered for the wedding, was all "jacked" up so the morning of the wedding I was shopping for a new one!

Oh what a weekend...but now onto MARVEL-US MONDAY!
What is Marvel-us Monday, you might ask? Well then...I shall tell you!
It is the day that I will share my round up of how fellow inspiring bloggsters have inspired me within the past week.
EVENTUALLY, it will be a
Fun
Power Packed
Off the "Chi-zain"
 Linky PARTAY
...BUT, for now, I am still a newbster and working on educating myself on all that good stuff!
I have been searching pinterest and the web for birthday inspiration for my little one who is turning 6 this weekend! I was so excited to see the loads of ideas on Rainbow Parties!
TONS AND TONS!
These were some of my faves!

These pancakes from Flavela look so fun! There isn't really any "Tut" on how to make them, but I figure it's a no-brainer...Just add food coloring to the batter, I assume! YUM!
Over at beneath the rowan tree, is a great idea on using sharpies to make tie-dye t-shirts! Super cute idea!  I can't wait to try this one!
I'm torn between the tie-die die idea or this cool idea from Alpha Mom using Sandpaper as an iron on transfer! ARE YOU SERIOUS? GENIUS!
I love this rainbow party favor idea from Our Best Bites! Super cute!!
I don't know about ya'll, but
I "HEART" PINTEREST!
The ideas are endless and shared with the world!
Just remember to give a shout out the idea holders!
Much Love to Ya'll!

Now, I'm off to take more meds and figure out a plan for getting a new phone!
I sure do wish I could "craft" one up...BUMMER!
MUAH,
