A REALLY GOOD FRIDAY: DIY PEWTER MIRROR RE-DO & GOOD FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Pin It Now!
All I can say is what a GOOOOOD FRIDAY it was!

HIGHLIGHT #1:
Began the day with sending off my lil man to spend the day tubing with the "Fam".
(You will never meet a little boy that is more "BOY")

HIGHLIGHT #2:
...and then it was just me and my lil "mini-me" :)  I  love having days with my little girl!

HIGHLIGHT #3:
Makeover time!
Taking the mirror off the bathroom wall for some much needed up-dating!

Here's the after...
AHHHH! It needed to be brightened up, BIG TIME!
(details to follow)

and before...

Before wasn't bad..just more brown...blah!

HIGHLIGHT #4
Enjoying the day with the Family!
Crawfish, Crawfish, Crawfish!
It's a southern thing! I'd like to say it's "poor man's lobster"
(Although it is NOT cheap by any means)

HIGHLIGHT #5;
A much needed Date Night! We watched "Hunger Games"  That was so very needed!! I loved spending time with my man and two other great friends (Evin and my crafter in crime, Sarah). Double dates are GRRRReat!

AND

HIGHLIGHT #6:
WE SOLD OUR CAR...FINALLY! HALLELUYERRR!
Five minutes before leaving on our date someone drives up and Bam! It was sold!

I TOLD YOU IT WAS A REALLY GOOD FRIDAY!
:)

OK, so details on the mirror are:

Super Easy!

Supplies:

1: I used "Shimmering Silver" acrylic paint and put two coats on the mirror. Love using that when I can because it dries so fast.  I didn't want to spray paint, because I wanted it to have a silver leaf kinda look and this was a close match.

2: To get the pewter look I used a 2 inch craft brush and I I glazed over the silver with "Black Coffee" Martha Stewart Metallic Glaze! Gosh, I love this stuff! It takes a while to dry so be patient :)

And that's about it!
It is not a "shindig" of a project but it freshened up the bathroom and really
looks like POO-ter!
I mean, PEW-TER!

(A LITTLE BATHROOM HUMOR)
HEE HEE
:)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
I love free AND easy makeovers, family, friends and crafts!
What a good Friday it was!

How good was your Friday?
