5 PIN-SPIRATIONS FOR SOON-TO-BE WORD ART

Pin It Now!
Well Good Day Blogworld!
Things are slowing down *SORTA* so I am really happy to be able to bounce back into the NORM.
I have TONS of projects backed up and in the works...one of them is incorporating words that inspire me through out every room of my home! I know it is important to be reminded of certain things that we may forget from day to day as the hectic background noise of life overwhelms us!
so
MISSION:
Make my home a reminder of what REALLY matters in life!
Here are some really cool sayings..some funny... that are inspiring me-- Via Pinterest!!

Gosh...GUILTY AS CHARGED! The pursuit of happiness will never be satisfied with more stuff! This pursuit will be accomplished in totality by appreciating FIRST what you have and THEN pursuing more.
Yep...You get to decide!

I love this!!!

My favorite attire lately...messy hair, tshirts and yoga pants (without the yoga).
THIS IS MY FAVE! Making stuff is my FAVORITE...BUT making a life is the
GREATEST CRAFT of ALL!

MARVEL-US MONDAY: RAINBOW PARTY IDEA ROUND-UP AND WEEKEND RUN-DOWN

Pin It Now!
WHOA! WHAT A WEEKEND! I have been on an emotional roller-coaster..BIG TIME!
Here's the rundown...

  • The whole family was in a wedding..YES, I said WHOLE...We survived...barely...The things we do for the ones we love..
  • I LOST Someone obviously STOLE my new iPhone! I am literally in mourning right now!
  • I was and still am sick with a horrible sinus thing!
  • Me and my son, while in our wedding attire (his being rented), stepped in a mud pit while leaving the wedding at 10:30 at night!
  • OH, and the highlight...the dress that I had altered for the wedding, was all "jacked" up so the morning of the wedding I was shopping for a new one!

Oh what a weekend...but now onto MARVEL-US MONDAY!
What is Marvel-us Monday, you might ask? Well then...I shall tell you!
It is the day that I will share my round up of how fellow inspiring bloggsters have inspired me within the past week.
EVENTUALLY, it will be a
Fun
Power Packed
Off the "Chi-zain"
 Linky PARTAY
...BUT, for now, I am still a newbster and working on educating myself on all that good stuff!
I have been searching pinterest and the web for birthday inspiration for my little one who is turning 6 this weekend! I was so excited to see the loads of ideas on Rainbow Parties!
TONS AND TONS!
These were some of my faves!

These pancakes from Flavela look so fun! There isn't really any "Tut" on how to make them, but I figure it's a no-brainer...Just add food coloring to the batter, I assume! YUM!
Over at beneath the rowan tree, is a great idea on using sharpies to make tie-dye t-shirts! Super cute idea!  I can't wait to try this one!
I'm torn between the tie-die die idea or this cool idea from Alpha Mom using Sandpaper as an iron on transfer! ARE YOU SERIOUS? GENIUS!
I love this rainbow party favor idea from Our Best Bites! Super cute!!
I don't know about ya'll, but
I "HEART" PINTEREST!
The ideas are endless and shared with the world!
Just remember to give a shout out the idea holders!
Much Love to Ya'll!

Now, I'm off to take more meds and figure out a plan for getting a new phone!
I sure do wish I could "craft" one up...BUMMER!
MUAH,

CRAFT FAIL NOW CRAFT-ABULOUS: GRANITE INSPIRED EGGS-THANKS LOLLY JANE!

Pin It Now!
WELL... here it is...the Pinterest Inspired Craft FAIL!

YEAH, well it's not really a "fail", I would say, but it is definitely NOT what I expected! I don't know what happened or what I did wrong.
When I spotted the chalkboard painted eggs on Pinterest, I
really loved them!
Get my point?
I mean, REALLY! I thought they were so cool! Until, I made them and all I could see was...

well...let's say the Bunny...was really really big... and left behind really big...
Well you get the point! I tried to ignore those thoughts but I just couldn't shake it!

BUMMER!

Thank you to Lolly Jane for saving the day! This was their original idea!!
Now I have granite-inspired eggs!!
MUCH MUCH better, I'd say!

I really wish it would have worked out for me and I just loved the chalkboard eggs in the picture on Pinterest, but they just weren't ME, ya know!?

Have you ever been disappointed by a project that you were SURE you would love???

If you are wondering this is how I made my eggs.  I did it a little different.  I used metallic instead of flat acrylic, except for the white, and no glitter.

1-Started with the black base from the chalkboard paint.
2-Then used a paper towel and dabbed on the brown metallic
3-Next, while still wet, I dabbed on the white acrylic
3-Let it dry for a little while.

While it was drying, I worked on my Spring wreath that I will share with you soon...multitasking!

4-Next, I added the gun metal gray metallic (It was still tacky but that's okay).
5-I wanted to add another layer of the white, dabbing very random and lightly and finished with the brown metallic.

It takes a little while to dry, but I am pleased!!

Kinda looks like little dino eggs! HAHA!

Nestled in a bed of green raffia in a beautiful crystal dish (from Goodwill, I might add) makes a nice little setting!

Let me know what you think! Also, show some love and "Follow"!
I'm  a new blogger and would LOVE new friends!

Blogging while enjoying beautiful company and a yummy slice of thin crust pizza
(with everything on it, OF COURSE),
Love,
NELLY
